چکیده

We propose a new sampling method for 2D and 3D implicit surfaces. The method is based on a stochastic process defined by the Langevin equation with a Gaussian random-force term. Our Langevin equation describes a stochastic-dynamical particle, which develops in time confined around the sampled implicit surface with small width. Its numerically generated solutions can be easily moved onto the surface strictly with very few iteration of the Newton correction. The method is robust in a sense that an arbitrary number of sample points can be obtained starting from one simple initial condition. It is because (1) the time development of the stochastic-dynamical particle does not terminate even when it reaches the sampled implicit surface, and (2) there is non-zero transition probability from one disconnected component to another. The method works very well for implicit surfaces which are complicated topologically, mathematically, and/or in shape. It also has some advantageous features in rendering 3D implicit surfaces. Many examples of applying our sampling method to real 2D and 3D implicit surfaces are presented. key words: implicit surface, sampling, stochastic process, Langevin equation, particle

بررسی دینامیکی ذرات خارج شده از هسته برانگیخته با استفاده از روش لانژوین

Using Langevin dynamics and the dissipative nature of the fission process, we have studied dynamical variations of nucleus from the formation of the compound nucleus to separation stage of two fission fragments. During this dissipative process, particles such as neutron, proton, alpha particle and gamma ray emit from the compound system. In the present work, the number of emitted particles usin...

The transition from deterministic chaos to astochastic

Deterministic dynamical systems of Langevin type recently introduced by Beck & Roepsdorf Physica 145 A (1987) 1] generate Langevin dynamics in a suitable limit. We discuss the transition from chaos to randomness in these systems under the point of view of the attractor dimension and dynamical en-tropy and show that the limit of a stochastic process is reached via a shift of the deterministic pr...

Anisotropic Sampling for Differential Point Rendering of Implicit Surfaces

In this paper, we propose a solution to adapt the differential point rendering technique developed by Kalaiah and Varshney to implicit surfaces. Differential point rendering was initially designed for parametric surfaces as a twostage sampling process that strongly relies on an adjacency relationship for the samples, which does not naturally exist for implicit surfaces. This fact made it partic...

Techniques for Stochastic Implicit Surface Modelling and Rendering

Implicit surfaces are a powerful shape primitive for computer graphics. This thesis focuses on a shape modelling approach which generates synthetic shapes by the specification of an implicit surface generating function that has random properties. This type of graphic object can be called a stochastic implicit surface because the surface is perceived as the realisation of a stochastic process. T...

Clipart Rendering with Dynamic Particle Systems

We present in this paper a new particle-based method for sampling and rendering several types of the nonphotorealistic feature contours on implicit surfaces: silhouette, shadow, specular shadow and suggestive contours. We introduce a curve adhesion behavior for dynamic particles that brings up the possibility to render any contour that is defined as an intersection of two implicit surfaces. In ...
